What Bigyn Is All About
Hello – my name is Marc Howells and I am the Headteacher here at Bigyn Primary School. My main aim for Bigyn is a simple but very important one. As a father myself, I want to ensure that my pupils are provided with the quality standard of education and range of experiences that I would want for my own two children . Our school vision is to “prepare young people with the skills needed to lead successful lives”. At Bigyn we place huge emphasis on enabling our pupils to develop their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. We also place equal emphasis on helping our pupils to learn essential life skills, such as cooperation, communication, problem-solving, perseverance, resilience and social skills. Pupil wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do – we want all our pupils to feel happy, safe and secure.
Bigyn is a very happy school. Our staff are very caring and supportive. Our pupils are friendly, considerate and fun to be with! Come and be part of the fantastic Bigyn community!
Hello. My name is Harriet Day-Williams and I am the Assistant Headteacher at Bigyn Primary School. I have had the pleasure of working at Bigyn for twenty years and feel that I have built good relationships with the pupils, their families and the community. My main focus has been building excellent relationships and having fun with the children. Our pupils frequently return here for work experience or just to visit to update us on their education and lives! I am the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator at the school – I get great pleasure from helping pupils with various challenges and special needs to make important progress and to play a full role in school life. My aim is to ensure we cater for each individual pupil in order for them to thrive and enjoy their time with us in Bigyn School.
